Super helpful guy from WD rang me today to help roll back the firmware.

Box is much faster and seems to work again

However, there is one major problem but it may not be related to the box

Remote access doesnt work anymore - I have a feeling it wasnt working also just before the firmware update

Any connection from an external source - either via an ipad/mobile or especially via wdtogo - completely bombs the device

has anyone got remote access working properly?

You need SSH

I must be honest the drive still isnt working anywhere near properly with the rollback

It’s strange becauise this drive worked really well for a couple of months - then, with nothing changed it went very very flaky

Two main problems are:

Remote access doesnt work at all

Even with a fuixed IP (outside of DHCP range) - it drops the connection every 15/20 mins
