Firmware icon?

I was going to upgrade to the new firmware and I can’t for the life of me find the “firmware upgrade icon”

"

How to Install the Product Update:

  1. Extract the three files (.BIN, .VER, and .FFF files) to the root (top level) of a portable USB drive.
  2. Connect the USB drive to the WD TV Live Media Player’s USB port.
  3. Press HOME, and then select the Settings bar.
  4. Select the firmware upgrade icon, and then press ENTER.
  5. You are prompted to perform the firmware upgrade."

I press home and then have a vertical list of options. I press the “settings” option and nowhere on that list is there a firmware upgrade icon? I go into “system setting” and there’s a “update device” option, but that’s just to update via the net and I’ve not hooked the player up to the net.

I’m stumped!

Any kind soul got a suggestion?

Cheers

Never mind.

I’d extracted the zip file directly to the usb and hadn’t checked. It created a folder called “wdtvlive_1.03.38_V” and the player couldn’t recognise the files inside.

Thanks anyway.

You need to put those files in the root - just move them out of that folder to the root of the drive, reboot the Live (unplug it from the power as well) and you’ll see the “New Firmware Found” report.

Yeah, cheers mate I got that which is why I replied myself.
