Hi, I have a recent problem whereby various types of video files stutter when played over Ethernet from a Diskstation. I have tested them by USB direct from a different disk drive (noticed that WDTV takes a long time to connect and seems unresponsive) and by Wi-Fi from the Diskstation and they work fine. The files definitely used to work fine over Ethernet also.

Have you tried to change the Ethernet cable? If that doesn’t resolve the issue for you then I would recommend you to please try to reset the device.

It might have just been a loose cable, So, now you know it works, try the original cable again. It just might be ok if being loose was the problem.
