I first tested My Book to find a missing database file and discovered that non of the ACT database files had been backed up by the wd my book on my XP computer. I am also suspicious that drawing, accounting and financial files have also been skipped. Talked to support and discovered that not all files are backed up and I got a list of file extensions that WD has decided to back up and the My Book will only record files with an approved extension, nothing else is backed up. SO I get this drive to back up only the unimportant stuff, not what I bought it for the important database etc. Now can any one tell me how to add to the WD list of extensions cause WD doesn’t know how!!! I think you want different software. I don’t think you can make it do what you want.
