This is what my WD backup drive looks when I go to retrieve something from that drive. What’s going on? Have I lost my files.
I have security and scan my system regularly.
The files are corrupted
look for a recovery software
try running chkdsk on the drive and see if able to fix

Ran checkdisk, which made the files further inaccessible.
Try using TestDisk or Recuva to restore the corrupted files
I’ve gone through all the steps of Testdisk but I’m at the point where it’s asking me if I want to “Write partition table?” Do I say yes to that step?
Did not get that message the time I used
