My son just built a pc for me. I connected my wd elements hard drive that contains 10 years worth of lessons and resources. All the files have got altered so now show without any names so I have no idea what they are. I dont have a back up…i did but they got wiped. Is there any way of getting it back to its original form.
This could be due to malware infection. You can run 3rd party anti-virus program to clean the virus. However, there are chances to lose some data that is affected by the virus. It is recommended to backup all data from the USB drive before you test the drive.
