Failed drives

Hi All,

I had a WD Green and a WD Blue as part of an UNRAID array to run my Plex server. I was using the green as a parity and the blue as storage.

A few weeks ago the parity drive failed and a few days ago the data drive failed. Both appear to be so broken that they won’t even be seen by another computer when I plug them into a cradle.

What did I do so wrong that two hard drives that are less than a year old decided to kill themselves with absolutely no warning? So much data is apparently irretrievable!

How these drives were connected?

Hi there,

They were running in an UNRAID array in an HP Proliant microserver and had been for around 10 months with no issues. Overnight they fail with no warning whatsoever.

I had made no changes in quite some time.

Update, I got the array to see the drive again but haven’t bothered to mount it this time. It seems that this error report was sitting on here:
