Extremely slow FullHD video transmission from WD Elements 1TB external hard disk to my TV

I bought my 1TB WD Elements external hard disk 2 days ago.

I try to watch at my Samsung TV the FullHD movies that I have stored at the hard disk, via USB connection, but this is impossible! Video pauses almost every second, because of (I presume) very poor data transmission from the hard disk to the TV. But, for God shake, the same FullHD movies stored at my old (year 2006) 80GB WD external hard disk play at the same TV with the same connection (microUSB) without any problems !!!

I am ready to return the 1TB WD Elements external hard disk to the retailer, as useless, unless you give me a solution to my problem.

Since this is a brand new drive I would contact WD Support directly by phone or email. This forum is mostly user to user, though there are WD staff who get involved sometimes. The Support portal is-
