External to internal: it's encrypted, i know :)

Hi all! I would like to put my My Book Essential internally into my PC. The data are encrypted (##@!!!) but I don’t understand if I can access to the unit by formatting and then using like a normal hard drive internal unit.

and, if it so, can I re-put into the external enclosure and have it back like original?

sorry for my english, i’m Italian

Yeah not a good thing to try

but is possible to use after you format the drive

buying an internal drive saves you time

ok, I know that buying an internal disk saves my time, but I have that.

isn’t it not a good thing to try or is it possible? they seem two conflicting ideas …

if I format, does it work as a standard internal disk?

I’m not sure if these external drives have standatd connectors anymore. They may be propriertary instead of standard SATA

Joe

no, I have disassembled it and it has a normal SATA connector. I have tried to connect internally before posting the question, but the PC doesn’t recognize it.

any suggestions?
