Hi, My external HD (WD passport 0730) had a mild fall after which it worked for 20 mins and then suddenly stopped working. Its being detected under the device manager but not showing anything in my computer, its also not showing under disk management. Also, its making a sound when connected. The light on the hd is static and not blinking. Is there anyway it can be made to work again?
I have also tried it connecting to different computers havin windows 7 and ubuntu, it still didn’t work.
It’s probably physically damaged. It doesn’t take much of a bump to kill one. You can try professional data recovery but it will be expensive.
