External HD beeping

Hi, so my WD 1TB pasport has started beeping when plugged in and no longer shows up in my computer. I’ve tried with a new cable and on a different PC for no luck. It shows up in device manager as ‘WD My Passport 0740 USB Device’ but comes up with a capacity of 0GB.

I’ve read that putting it in the freezer may work as a last resort, anything I should try before that?
