Can a WD external hard drive be used to backup files on a Windows 98 SE desktop?
Are you talking about an automatic backup or just copying files? If the drive is recognized you might be able to copy to it. Windows 98 is not a supported OS. You might be able to boot from a Linux Live CD and copy files that way.
