External drive stopped functioning

I believe I have a my book and was working fine until tonight. I noticed it wasnt on ( i usually keep it plugged in). Unplugged it from the power and then plugged it back in, and the light went on a few seconds and I could feel it turn on but then it went off. Anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

Since there’s been no replies, maybe you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this. You can do so either by phone or email.

Mine did the same thing… worked fine til today. I just called but its not under warranty anymore… Ive tried everything and my computer just can see my drive

I just tried using a different usb cable and it didnt help… can these drives just stop functioning?
