Hello, I have 2 WD external MY Book drives(1TB, 3TB)on my XP system. They work great but it seems everything my computer does it has to also access both drives for some reason. This really slows things down. Is there some kind of setting so my computer doesn’t bother these drives unless I click on them to access them? I hope I’m clear in my explanation. Thanks Dan
Hi, Check if you have any program (Anti-virus, backup program, etc.) installed in your computer that might be accessing the My Book and disable it.

Yes, you will always see the light blinking when you boot up the PC.
