Just got my EX4100 and I am new to NAS/RAID. My 4100 is populated with 4x 6T drives. My plan is to go RAID 10 and ideally I would like to make this my Time Machine backup unit. But I also want the capability to upload files remotely to the drive. My question is can Time Machine play well with having other files/folders on the same drive (without some kind of partitioning)? Thought I’d ask here before actually just trying it. Thanks in advance.
Hi, you can use the drive for time machine and add files manually, as Time Machine will be backup in a particular share and into a folder inside of that share, as long as you don’t change anything in there, you should be fine.
