can someone tell me, if the built-in Hardware encryption will affect transfere rates?
2nd, is there a way to disable encryption after enabling it during the creating process of the Volume?

yes it will decrease the writing speed alot (of course depending on your network setup what is lot and what isnt).
my own experience: dont encrypt, useless. it only protects if someone steals the drive, but who is going to do that? if someone is going to steal it, the person will probably take the whole device rather than just a drive.
if you want to encrypt something, use veracrypt or similar.
i have dl2100 and en/decryption can be done only when formatting the drive. i quess it is the same with ex.
