EX4 reformatting question

I have a Ex4 with 4 red nasware 2.0 4tb drives. when i turn on my unit all 4 drives fail. Ive tried the reset button but no success. Can I wipe each drive individually using my macbook and then re-install them into the nas system??

Yes, you can do that. Also, check that the drive are working fine with the computer or not.
