EX4 - no drives, no ethernet, reboots

My EX4 running RAID5 has been operating perfectly for the first two months.

A week ago I shut it down prior to leaving town.

The display showed there was an update available.

Upon powering it up the four drive lights blink and the display says no drives present.

I can’t get link lights off either ethernet port.

When I ask it to shutdown it reboots and I have to pull the power cable.

I don’t know the software version but I bought it in April.

I don’t remember if I had configured it to automatically update but I know I didn’t tell it to update.

I created a support case on Sunday but haven’t heard from them.

Any suggestions?

Hi Coryocala, this issue is currently under investigation.

How do I get a replacement?

I just need the cabinet.

I have data on the array I am hoping to recover.

I am having the same issue. I have the same setup as you. I turned it off during a trip and turned it on a few weeks later and th elights on the drives just flash and flash. I can only get it to boot when I remove the drives.

We traded emails a couple times until I was home and available to troubleshoot.

They called me about ten minutes after emailing them from home.

We tried some basic stuff but I was pretty sure the enclosure was toast.

When I told him the ethernet ports where lit while I was holding the patch cables that sealed it.

They sent me a complete replacement unit including drives.

I swapped my drives into the new enclosure, told it to import them and everything was good.

Of course I had to go thru the setup steps etc but no big deal.

I have the old one including their drives back in the box and will send it back out Monday.

They email you a return label and instruct you to write the RMA on the outside of the box.

So far I am very happy with their support.
