EX2 - Plugged in WD USB drive, Dashboard freezes and Power LED flashes

Having had my EX2 for only a couple of days, i’m still transfering data from my older drives. One of my drives is a WD Elements powered USB drive (2TB), which i had direct into my router. THe transfer rate was low and transfering data to the EX2 was taking forever, I therefore thought of just plugging the USB drive into the ports in the back of the EX2 and transfer that way for speed.

However, after doing so, I went into the Dashboard and saw the drive had been recognised, so then set up the Share. I wasn’t able to map the Share in windows, so attempted to go back to the Dashboard and set the NFS switch on… Dashboard then froze and i was unable to do anything.

Only by unplugging the USB drive from the EX2 would make the Dashboard respond and have me back to square one. I’ve tried plugging back in but no success. FUrthermore, the power LED is now blinking blue when the drive is plugged in.

What am I doing wrong here…plugging a USB drive in should be simple enough.

Is this happening with any USB drive you have tried? Or this issue is only presented with this particular hard drive?

I’ve only got this one to try. It’s a WD USB drive, so i’d expect that to work if no other.
