Dear all,
I recently bought EX2 and trying to set it up for 2 TimeMachines (macbook air 2011 and macbook pro retina 2012)
as well as a general network drive to be shared.
I set up the EX2 from my MBP, created 2 accounts for time machine with limit of 500Gb and another two for general usage.
On my MBP EX2 appears automatically among Shared in 2 ways:
WDMyCloudEX2
WDMyCloudEX2_AFP_TimeMachineBackup
I suppose the second one is the result of Time Machine turned “on” at the EX2 dashboard settings.
If I go to TimeMachine preferences on OSX Yosemite on my MBP, I see that second drive fine and can back up to it.
By connecting as a user, I have a control over how much space will be used. Seems to be working fine.
On the macbook air i have problems… ![]()
I can connect to webpage admin by providing IP address (192.xxx). I also can connect to it by both afp:// and smb:// protocols, but NAS does not appear automatically among shared devices.
Both macs run latest OSX Yosemite. I am puzzled why I have no problems on the MBP while I can’t make it work on MBAir…
Ideally, i would like to show EX2 on the MacBook Air among “Shared” devices so that one could read/write to public folders. And also the “…_AFP_TimeMachineBackup” should be visible so that I could connect to it as another user to do back ups from the macbook air.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
p.s. the firmware is up-to-date
Kind regards,
Denis.
