Essentials 10A2 not recognized by 2011 Essentials

Am about to retire our old 2011 Essentials server and need to perform a last couple of backups. Server Essentials however refuses to recognize the 10A2. I just get the error “USB device not recognized/installed”.

I can manually copy everything over but would rather not since it takes hours upon hours. Don’t know if there’s a missing driver or what’s causing it to not be recognized when I first plug it in.

Hello there,

Try a different USB cable to see if the drive is recognized, you can also try a different computer.

It picks right up on the new server (2016 Essentials) but fails on the one I need to back up. (but of course it does! Murphy’s in full effect)
