Essential - Windows does not detect drive, don't want to reformat

#1

My laptop recently crashed and I had everything backed up on my Essential.  While my laptop is being repaired, I used another laptop to attempt to access my files stored on the external.  Windows did the usual “your device is installed and ready to use” but I could not find the external in My Computer.  In disk management, I located the drive and it said that the space was “unallocated.”  I take this to mean my drive has somehow become unpartitioned?

My only copies of many files are on that Essential and I do not want to reformat it.  Is there any way I can salvage data from it?
