Error when copying several large files (all less than 5 Gb each)

I am trying to copy a bunch of video files to my iMac (latest OS) from my WD passport wireless via a USB3 port. Individual files copy fine, but I get an error saying that a part of one of the files can’t be read or written. So, what’s up? Why can’t this be done when the same file as an individual copy works fine?

Does it give you the name of that individual file that can’t be read or written in the error message?

Yes it does and later I can actually copy that file as a single job
