I have a new LaView Surveillance system with an NVR model LV-N9808C8E. I bought a new purple 2TB and attached it and plugged in the power plug and SATA connector to the drive. When I go to format the drive, it initially says “initializing 20%.” After about seven minutes, the NVR software says “Abnormal.” I have checked all the connections, etc. Does this sound like a defective drive?
Hello, Might be a defective drive, however you can try connecting the drive to a computer just verify that the drive is in good working order.
