Error message on my external hard drive

I’ve got a WD Ext HDD 1021 2TB hard drive and use it with the Windows 7 back-up program.  I have to go in and manually delete back-up sets of files to keep availabel room on the hard drive.  I’m trying to delete soem back up sets and get the error message

“Error 0x80070091: The directory is not empty”

and the folder that I’ve chosen for deletion will not delete.  Can anyone tell me what this error means and what I need to do to delete the folders that I want to?  Thanks

Hello and welcome to the WD community.

I recommend doing a diagnostic on the drive to see if perhaps it could be an issue with file corruption. You can try this out see if it helps:
