Error message - Cannot access software

I have a WD Passport Essential USB 2.0 320gb. I backed photos etc on it when I bought it a couple of years ago. When trying to connect now I get a box up up saying WD SMARTWARE has detected a problem and asking me to send an erro report. It will not let me access the software so I cannot view what is already on the HD or add anything else. 

Any suggestion would be most welcome.


Smartware is not the only way to access the Passport, if you click on Start/Computer/My Passport you should be able to access the files in it. For the smartware problem, uninstall it and reinstall it again.  :wink:
