Error code -36 on my book on iMac

Hi all,

Frustrated with my new my book…it won’t let me create folders, save to the drive, drag to the drive, basically, can’t use it.

The install went fine. I have let it sit empty for a few weeks and now when I want to use it, I can’t. Fortunately, I don’t have any files or folders on it, so if I need to reformat it, it’s not a loss. However, I’ve been reading some other comments on this error code and I’m a little uncertain as to what to do.

dot_clean is a console tool in macOS that “merges ._* files with corresponding native files.
