I am loading smartware from WD for a MY Book and keep getting error code 1603 and installation fails. have run a registry clean up and still have same.
I am using windows vista with Netframework 3.5
Any solutions for me?

Try using the error debugger from Microsoft fix it in order to clear this error message.

On the first step select Windows then choose the option for “Install or upgrade software or hardware”.
Under the third step it will give you the options to fix programs that can be installed.
