Error 0x80070057

I recently bought a Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive and keep getting an error when trying to install  Windows 7 64 bit. Doesn’t matter if I format it or not, it keeps bringing up this error. My motherboard is a M4A79T Deluxe. Any help? Would like to know if this is a dead HD or not.
