Erasing data on my WD My Book World white light

I have a 'WD My Book World’ NAS drive which I have tried to run from MAC OS 10.5.9 Time Machine. It appeared to work for a while, though I can’t say that I checked to see if I could actually recover data. However, try as I may, now, I can’t get Time Machine to do anything except load my router unacceptably, so I would like to try the WD software.  How do I get back to square 1 and delete the data that has been put on the system (some 29% of capacity) and load the WD back up software?

Log to the configuration page> adv mode> system> configuration> restore default configuration.

Then you can get the software from WD’s site =)
