I just purchased a Shuttle SSD TB3, plugged into an iMac Pro, and I want to keep the data encrypted. I cannot find anything in the User’s manual about best practices or implications of using encryption and I do not see any options in the Software Utility to encrypt the data. The only way I know to encrypt the data is through Disk Utility, which is fine, but I am wondering what the implications of encrypting the logical drive are with redundancy and the RAID type. Do some RAID types do better with encryption?
