Hey you guys,
I need your help, please.
I had a RAID 0 array by using 2 raptors. Due an issue (already fixed) I reset my BIOS so passing my RAID 0 array into RAID 1 (mirror). Trying to rebuild my original array by using RAIDMAN.EXE I did a mistake, so my HDDs were separated (spares? They work fine). It is not important for me to format both disks.
My problem is as follows. I need to enable RAID configuration in my BIOS in order to apply F10 and then construct my striping array. However when I save such a configuration, my system hangs displaying “detectecting the array”. The only way to fix this issue is resetting my BIOS and I get my disks separated again. So I fall in a vicious circle. Not matter what I do, e.g. changing to CD booteable priority. My system doesn’t recognize neither OS CDROM nor the booteable installation floppies; ALT-CTRL-DEL doesn’t work; I have to shutdown and resetting the BIOS. After of this all is fine but with my HDDs separated. My floppy RAID drivers is OK.
Under this situation (i.e. HDDs separated), my OS CDROM is recognized, I apply F6 when prompted, next I install my RAID and nForce drivers arriving to the screen indicating my 2 separated disks. So I may formatting it and install my OS WinXP Pro-SP3. (I don’t know if I must install the OS in just only one HDD and leaving in blank my another formatted HDD). So Windows is installed perfectly but, of course, my HDDs appear separated, because I couldn’t use F10 to construct my RAID array due the mentioned hanging.
So may you please give me some help to solve this problem! Thanks in advance by your attention.
