Email alerts not working anymore

So i have two Mycloud drives… I noticed that i rebooted one of them buyt i never got an email alert. So as a test i rebooted the other one, which is purely a back drive for the first mycloud drive and i also got no email alert. The alerts have worked fine in the past. I havent changed anything on the drives.

I’m still running the older firmware on purpose due to all the horror stories out there about the new version.

I can successfully send a test email from the dashboard of both drives.

This is what i see in the user.log after a reboot:

What is this REST API stuff?  Anyone any ideas? Thanks

@Tony, thanks for the OBVIOUS.

My reason for asking about the REST API was because i was expecting someone to tell me if that message meant anything to someone that could explain why the alerts are not working.

Sorry, Alirz…  I thought you were asking what REST API was, not what was going wrong.

If TEST emails are working OK, just not a reboot notification, then I wouldn’t worry about it too much.

You’re not just running “the older firmware,” you’re running a version that’s six releases old.

There was one release note about notification issues, but I’m not sure if it could relate to or affect your issue or not.

Thanks Tony, I guess ill stay without notificaitons for now…

As for the older FW, yeh i know, its pretty old. But i have 0 problems at that version. My drive is super fast, has no sleep issues, no loss of network connectivity issues, remote access doesnt work but that seems to be due to java issues, i dont really care about wd2go web access not working as i’ve setup several other methods of accessing info remotely…

Plus my primary wdcloud drive has been customized alot to automate a lot of stuff for me and i would not want to re-do that all over again, though i have most of the mods added to a script, which, if run, “SHOULD” set the drive up automatically as i want it to be after a FW update but i rather not test my scripting skills for now :slight_smile:
