Elements Play Multimedia Drive Won't Detect HDD

Hi, I have been loading DVD’s onto my drive fine with no problems and then all of a sudden the drive wouldn’t detect.

If I plug it into my Laptop it registers a mass usb device but can’t access the drive and when plugged into the TV it says it’s unable to detect a HD.

Anyone got any ideas other than what I suspect which is a knackered HD. Also any way to rescue data on there?

Try Recuva or Photorec recover the info and reset the unit.
