WDBAAU0020HBK-0, 2TB USB external drive had be using on router as NAS, mainly for photo storage. Drive started going flaky so plugged directly into PC.
Can see the directories and files, with Explorer just can’t open the images. Installed the WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostics utility and when first starts it the SMART Status has PASS. When I try to run the Quick Test has Estimated time as 5 minutes but been nearly 2 hours but still not complete.
Not concerned about the warranty just want the pictures, what do I do? Worthwhile trying the drive removed from the case and connected directly in the PC (sata)?
