Hello, I own a WD Elements 1048. I’ve been using it for almost 2 years and today I can’t access it anymore. I’ve checked the control panel and it says it’s connected. It’s also present in Devices and Printers
When I open disk management, I’m immediately asked to initialized the disk before the Local Disk Manager can access it.
Use the following partition style for the selected disks:
MBR (Master Boot Record)
[ ] GPT (GUI Partition Table)
When I click OK, I get an error that says “The request failed due to a fatal device hardware error”

Are there any ways of fixing it? I’ve tried my other 2 usb ports and with another laptop but I’ve no luck accessing my files.
