Easystore external drive has lost its mind...please help!

I have been using the Easystore drive for about a year as my Time Machine backup with no problems. Then last week I must have shut down my machine without properly unmounting the drive first – and it has gone beserk ever since! If I attach it to a USB port, it appears in Finder intermittantly, if I do a ‘get info’ (cmd-I) on it, the information window appears for a few seconds then disappears…and it will put up an error message “Disk Not Ejected Properly” every few minutes, which will continue indefinitely I guess, if I let it…super annoying!

I tried running the Apple disk utility, and the WD disk utility, but neither see the ■■■■ thing…what to do?
