I have the above problem with new drive connected to my iMac with Catalina OSX. In reading several blogs and WD posts it appears my exact problem has been caused, according to numerous writers, by the WD Utilities and WD Discovery software and possibly the drivers. Have these Utilities been revised and improved and I need update or are they still a problem and must be removed from the computer? can they be temporarily removed.?
