DWA-125 Drop Connections

I have two WD HD TV Live, both running with D-Link DWA-125, and they both seem to drop connections very often (about every 4 minutes) when streaming videos from my server.  When I check on the network connection status, it shows that it can find an IP Address, but it can’t find the DNS Server.

I don’t seem to have this issue streaming from my PC wirelessly or from my XBOX 360.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue with this USB Adapter?

WD HD TV Live Firmware: 1.01.11

Wireless USB Adapter: DWA-125

Wireless Router: WRT54GL

I’m getting the same annoying problem with the TrendNet 644 USB Wireless adapter.  Everything works for a while until I play a video (typically XVID+MP3.AVI) for 5-10 minutes and then it dies.  I’m using Vista.  I found some references to Vista and Windows 7 dropping connections but so far these solutions haven’t worked for me but maybe they will for you:

Prevent mysteriously dropped file shares (SMB):

net config server /autodisconnect:-1

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950836
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters SMB2 DWORD:0 to disable SMB2 and use SMB1 if necessary

http://www.windowsreference.com/windows-vista/slow-network-copy-and-connection-drops-in-windows-7/
netsh int ip show offload
netsh int ip set global taskoffload=disabled
disable and enable the network adapter
netsh int ip show offload

Are you sure that it is USB Wireless adaptor problem and not the network dropping problem. Can you for instance watch youtube  without dropouts. If this is OK than I would assume that there nothing wrong with your adaptor.

Also there’s another thread about this in the forum, “network drops every approx 4 minutes”.

It seems to work fine when I’m using YouTube, but if I’m streaming videos off a server, it would disconnect.

It would basically disable the whole network connection, so I cant even get to YouTube after that.
