Dropbox create high traffic load

Hello,

I use the Dropbox app in MyCloud since over a year. All was fine until around 2-4 weeks ago.

I noticed recently a spike in daily traffic by factor 5-10 on my internet line to now over 2 TB/month. After some try and error I identified the Dropbox app as source. On my Dropbox nothing changed, and I checked changes and nothing justified this amount if traffic.

I reinstalled already the app, but I t when 8 activate it the traffic spike again within 10 minutes.

Any ideas?

There are no details log or version history (maybe an update is buggy?)

Frank

Just to confirm, you don’t have a My Cloud Home device right? The My Cloud Home devices are completely different than the My Cloud line of devices. Next, if you have a My Cloud what firmware is it running? OS3 v4.x or v2.x firmware. Or OS5 v5.x firmware. This subforum generally deals with the OS3 single bay/single drive My Cloud. The Dropbox app is not supported on the OS3 single bay/single drive My Cloud.

If running OS5 v5.x firmware see the dedicated device subforum for the OS5 My Cloud line of devices were you can find assistance for that specific OS and device. The OS3 firmware is no longer supported by WD.

It is an My Cloud EX2 Ultra running Version 5.25.124.

Because your running OS5 on a EX2 Ultra, see the dedicated OS5 EX Series subforum.
