Drive shows as RAW - no data on Win XP after defragging

HELP!

My disk shows as RAW data type, completely full, but nothing shows on the disk under XP Pro sp3.

When I run chkdsk it gives an error:

The type of the file system is RAW.
CHKDSK is not available for RAW drives.

I really to get this disk running properly - it’s my backup.

Please Help!

If you original data is intact, I would re-format to NTFS and run the back up again.

I ended up buying GetDataBack for NTFS which seems to have worked for more than 98% of my files.
