So I have a WD RED NAS 4TB drive that has been giving me a lot of errors. When I do a disk check with the western digital drive testing utility it gives an error of 08- too many bad errors sectors detected.
I checked the warranty status and it still covered. The question is even though the drive shows a smart status of pass would the 08 error still make it eligible for a RMA replacement or does it have to fail SMART in order for it to be eligible for a RMA?
Hi teckuser,
Yes, you can replace the drive. Please refer to the link given below in order to know how to apply for the RMA.
