Have WD 10EAVS External HD.Using Windows XP. Suddenly drive is not recognised and i cannot access my files. WD support doesn’t have any help if you are on XP. According to Device manager this is working normally!! Any help appreciated. Have tried the WD support suggestions -different computer -into mains outlet -different lead,but no luck.This trusty old drive has worked well for years -now it’s let me down.

It is possible the partition is corrupted.
You may try to recover the data using a data recovery software then format the drive in order to use it again.
