Drive no longer needs WD Unlocker or a password?

I have a WD MyPassportUltra, 3tB, product ID WDBBKD0030BBK-05. I bought this drive in 2015 and it has worked well. Just this week, I noticed a new behavior: when I attach the drive to my Win10 PC, it is immediately recognized and available via Explorer. Previously, the “WD Unlocker” dialog would appear and I had to provide a password to unlock the drive. That no longer happens.

What do I need to do to require the use of WD Unlocker and the drive’s password?

My guess is that you somehow managed to enable the Auto Unlock feature in the unlocker app.
You should be able to disable it the same way.
