Your WD drive is corrupted. Don’t format it. Try running chkdsk X: /f in Command Prompt. Reinstall WD software or drivers. If it still doesn’t work, use recovery tools like Recuva or TestDisk. If the drive makes strange sounds, stop using it and get help from a recovery service.
Hi @JGaruti3,
As already mentioned by others, the issue seems to be due to file system corruption. Avoid formatting the drive. First, try running chkdsk X: /f in Command Prompt (replace X with your drive letter).
You can also try connecting the drive to another PC or USB port. Update the WD driver via Device Manager or check for updates in Windows Update.
If the drive is still unreadable, use a reliable Windows data recovery software to recover your files. If you hear any unusual sounds from the drive, stop using it and consult a professional recovery service.
