Drive is no longer visible on Mac - flashing white and orange light on unit

I have a Thunderbolt Duo drive which is connected to my iMac via Thunderbolt cable.

It has worked fine for many years, but is now no longer visible on my iMac.

When I pull the power cable from the back and re-insert it, the light that usually flashes white, flashes white and orange very quickly, the drive makes a whirling noise as if it is trying to work, then it just goes dead.

Could anyone please advise a remedy for this?

Hi,
May be hard drive not working? Plug it and wait 3 minutes then check hard drive still spin or not. May be it help

The drive might have failed or soon fail entirely. Try to back it up. Next, replace the drive.
