I have has my 2TB essential drive for a long time, but recently I will go to access the drive, but it will not let me type in my password. Previously I had an issue where the drive will sit, with one flashing light, then after 2 minutes the drive will show up and Smartware would tell me that there is “No writable partition” So i shelved my drive for a few months. Today, I updated the smartware and now whenever I start it up it will still wait for 2-3 minutes, but now when it shows up in smartware, it says too many password attempts and prompts me to format the drive. I do not want to reformat it because it has 1.5TB of my data and I can’t replace the data.
