Drive Disconnects after I start to transfer a file

I’ve had my drive for years and have never had a problem. A few days ago I noticed I couldnt move any files to and from the drive. Whenever I try doing either it will start the transfer and then the drive will no longer be found.

It’s been so many years I dont know my username/password anymore to try to upgrade the firmware. It doesnt accept the default one which I am possitive I never changed. 

Not sure what to check.

I’m using the WD10000H1NC
