Downgrade firmware instructions?

Hi everyone;

Could someone point me to (or provide here) step by step instructions to downgrade the firmware on my EX2 to version 1.05.36? I have the file, but assume that I cannot just install it using the web gui.

If it’s not possible - please explain why not?

Some advanced Users with deep SSH knowledge have been able to manually change the firmware revision used by their units. However, this is not warranted or supported by Western Digital.

There are several unofficial guides within the WD Community using the key-term “debrick”.
