I have the old, WD Play which I connect to my TV and can Sling my home TV shows through Slingplayer, one of the Apps included in WD Play. Does the new, replacement box, TV Media Player, have the Slingplayer App built into it? Is it also true that they removed the Netflix App from it? The old one worked great, although there was some lag at times. I was hoping the new box is faster and possibly had less hesitation from when you press a key on the remote and when the command actually gets done. Thanks.
Yes the 2014 WDTV Media Player has the Slingplayer App … (i have never used it though)

Faster ? the Hardware is still the same as the 2011 WDTV Live Streaming
eg. 700 MHz Single Core Processor with 512MB RAM
So compared to Quad / Octo Core media devices with at least a of 1GB RAM … it feels pretty slow
